4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Kendall Graveman gave up seven runs, six earned, on six hits and three walks through four innings in Monday's loss to the Astros. The Astros have been giving all of the Mariners pitchers a tough time to start 2020, so Graveman's outing isn't surprising. However, Graveman pitched better than his final stat line would suggest. He struck out seven batters total and breezed through the opposing lineup the first time through the order, but struggled to get through them a second time. This was Graveman's first start since undergoing Tommy John surgery in July of 2018 and the strikeouts and velocity were encouraging. That being said, Graveman looks like he still has some rust to shake off and pitches for an offense that is unlikely to give a lot of run support this season. Graveman's next start is scheduled for Sunday against the Athletics and he should left on waivers.--Steve McCarthy - RotoBaller
