2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Jack Flaherty (shoulder) thinks mechanical issues with his throwing motion could have been the reason behind his latest stint on the injured list. He missed the first two and a half months of the season and then returned for three starts before going back on the IL on June 27. Flaherty is currently on the 60-day IL, so he's not eligible to return until Aug. 25. The 26-year-old right-hander had a light throwing session on Saturday and threw a bullpen session on Sunday. A decision on an upcoming minor league rehab assignment for Flaherty should be decided soon. He had a 5.63 ERA and more walks (nine) than strikeouts (six) in his three June starts, but he's hoping for continued success this time around when he rejoins St. Louis' rotation to close out the year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
