Melvin Gordon III Out Friday With Illness

4 years agoDenver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III (illness) is not practicing on Friday because of a non-COVID-19-related illness, according to a source. Gordon has practiced this week, but there remains the possibility that the league gives him a two- or three-game suspension after he was charged with a DUI earlier this week. He could appeal such a suspension, but the Broncos could also decide to hold him out of action this Sunday against the Patriots. Add on the fact that the Week 6 game against New England is once again in question because of positive COVID-19 tests in the Pats organization, and Gordon has become a dicey low-end RB2. Oh, and Phillip Lindsay (toe) will be back in the fold after being out with turf toe since the season-opener.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
