6 years agoThe New York Mets and free-agent starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel's representation have reportedly had contact to gauge the interest of the former American League Cy Young award winner, an industry source indicated on Sunday. Keuchel would be a huge improvement over either Steven Matz or Jason Vargas, whom he would presumably displace in the rotation if a deal were done. However, there are no indications that discussions have been remotely serious. Keuchel isn't a bad stash and save option if you have the roster flexibility. He'll land somewhere and it's likely going to be a winning team, too.--Daniel Dobish
