2 years agoThe New York Mets promoted third base prospect Brett Baty and pitching prospect Jose Butto from Double-A Binghamton to Triple-A Syracuse on Monday. Baty has a .950 OPS, 19 home runs and 59 RBI at Binghamton this year, while Butto has a 4.00 ERA and a 10.5 K/9 in 92 1/3 innings over 20 outings (18 starts). Baty, the team's No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, was slashing .312/.406/.544 with 73 runs scored and two stolen bases in 89 games. He has a smooth swing from the left side of the plate and appears to be developing more power as he matures. Butto, the team's No. 12 prospect, has a nice fastball-changeup combination.
