7 years agoSeattle Mariners catcher Mike Zunino (ankle) has been throwing and doing light hitting off a tee, according to manager Scott Servais. "He feels good," said Servais. "He's not running yet, but he's putting weight on it. I'm very, very optimistic that he'll back when we come out of the break." Zunino could join Triple-A Tacoma for rehab games next week before rejoining the Mariners on July 20 against the White Sox. While Zunino is hitting under the Mendoza Line this year (.189), he does have 12 homers and 29 RBI in 201 at-bats and is an option in two-catcher leagues for his power in a solid lineup. Chris Herrmann and David Freitas will continue to split time behind the plate until Zunino returns.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
