Miles Mikolas Faces Hitters

4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Miles Mikolas (forearm) faced hitters on Tuesday night at the team's summer camp, making swift work of his two innings. The Cardinals are being "conservative" with Mikolas after he dealt with a right forearm injury in spring training, but the delay to the season should allow him to be in the Opening Day rotation, barring setbacks. The 31-year-old right-hander was excellent in 2018, but he predictably took a step back in 2019, and his low strikeout rate didn't help his fantasy owners any either. Fantasy owners buying into Mikolas for the shortened season shouldn't expect a whole lot, and the ceiling is low because of his inability to miss bats frequently.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
