Quentin Grimes was a sought-after commodity by Utah during talks surrounding a trade for
Donovan Mitchell. However, with Mitchell now in Cleveland, reports have surfaced that the Knicks weren't willing to part ways with the 22-year-old. Grimes averaged 6.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assists while shooting 38.1% from deep in 46 games last season. Nevertheless, it appears New York has high expectations for the 2021 No. 25 overall pick, so he should receive plenty of chances to succeed while making a difference on the fantasy end in the process.

2 years agoFree-agent forward Devontae Cacok signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Trail Blazers. The 25-year-old has suited up for the Lakers and Spurs during his three-year career and has averaged 2.5 points and 2.2 rebounds in 36 games. With the team recently waiving Norvel Pelle and signing
Olivier Sarr, Cacok will have some competition for a spot throughout training camp. However, even if Cacok is on the roster come October, he likely won't see much action.

Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee) didn't play during Monday's EuroBasket contest against Great Britain due to knee discomfort. However, according to Greece head coach Dimitris Itoudis, it's "nothing major." Fortunately, the 27-year-old will play on Tuesday. Nevertheless, routine rest isn't anything new for Antetokounmpo, so fantasy managers shouldn't lose any sleep. With that said, his condition is still worth monitoring ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

Olivier Sarr to an Exhibit 10 deal. The 23-year-old spent most of last season in OKC, averaging 7.0 points and 4.2 minutes in 22 games. He has a chance to make the regular season roster, although he must prove his worth throughout training camp. With that said, even if Sarr makes the cut, he'll likely remain behind
Jusuf Nurkic,
Drew Eubanks, and
Trendon Watford on the depth chart during the season. The team waived center Norvel Pelle in a corresponding move.

Instead, he now finds himself looking for work. The 29-year-old has played 40 games over the last three seasons, making stops in Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Sacramento, New York, and Utah. During that time, he's averaged 2.4 rebounds, 2.1 points, and 1.0 blocks. Pelle has a good chance of signing with a new team. However, he is far from being relevant in any fantasy format.

Marcus Smart (ankle) indicated he's feeling better but still recovering from the ankle injury he dealt with during the postseason. The 28-year-old averaged 12.1 points, 5.9 assists, and 3.8 rebounds last season across 71 games. He also averaged 1.7 steals while being named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year. Nevertheless, Smart is capable of producing for fantasy managers. However, he hasn't been the healthiest throughout his career, something to consider during fantasy drafts heading into October.

2 years agoThe Mavericks are reportedly interested in signing free-agent guard Dennis Schroder. Dallas has room on its roster and is looking to add a veteran ball-handler. Schroder would certainly fill that need while bolstering the Mavs' bench in the process. The 28-year-old began the 2021-22 campaign in Boston before he was traded to Houston ahead of the deadline. With the Rockets, he averaged 10.9 points, 5.9 assists and 3.3 rebounds across 15 games. Nevertheless, if Schroder signs, he has a good chance of starting here and there during the year. That won't make him an everyday fantasy option, but his services should come in handy for the managers dealing with injuries during the season.

Danilo Gallinari (knee) likely done for the year after tearing his left ACL, there are minutes up for grabs in Boston. However, Anthony isn't expected to be a reliable fantasy contributor, although it would decrease the fantasy appeal of
Grant Williams and
Sam Hauser.

Russell Westbrook is expected to attend any players-only minicamps before official training camps commence at the end of September. After a tumultuous offseason, the 2017 MVP remains on the roster, making it less likely he'll be moved as each day passes. The 33-year-old averaged 18.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, 7.1 assists, and 1.0 steals last season. His durability is a bonus for fantasy participants. While Westbrook's shooting numbers aren't eye-popping, he certainly is one of the best all-around producers in the league. That shouldn't change if he stays in L.A. and could improve if he's traded elsewhere.

Danilo Gallinari (knee) isn't expected to play this season. The veteran suffered a left knee injury during a FIBA World Cup qualifying game. At the time, it was believed Gallinari tore his meniscus. However, upon further testing, he's dealing with a torn ACL, which is much worse. Although the 34-year-old hopes to get on the floor this season, it's not looking promising. Nevertheless, without Gallinari in the lineup,
Grant Williams and
Sam Hauser will be the likely benefactors on the fantasy end. There have also been rumblings that the C's are interested in free agent Carmelo Anthony or making a move to acquire Jazz forward
Rudy Gay.

Jordan Clarkson could be the next player on the roster to be moved. The team has already traded
Donovan Mitchell and
Rudy Gobert this offseason. However, Utah reportedly isn't finished as Clarkson, along with
Bojan Bogdanovic and
Mike Conley, may be suiting up elsewhere this season. The 2021 Sixth Man of the Year ended last season by averaging 16.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists, so wherever he plays come October, he'll continue to be expected to provide plenty of offense from off the bench. At the same time, his defensive numbers historically haven't been the best, and his percentage from deep has room for improvement, two things fantasy managers should consider.

Cam Reddish may be looking for a new team. While Reddish hasn't officially asked to be moved, Steven Bondy of the New York Daily News reported the former Hawk prefers to play elsewhere. The 23-year-old was selected in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft by Atlanta. While his tenure with the Hawks was met with mixed results, he averaged less than 15 minutes per game after he was traded to the Knicks last season. Nonetheless, time could be running out for the Duke alum to prove his worth from a fantasy standpoint. Although Reddish is undoubtedly talented, fantasy managers shouldn't go above and beyond to pick him during drafts heading toward October, especially if he stays in New York.

Mike Conley is on the trade block. With Utah already moving on from
Rudy Gobert and
Donovan Mitchell, it's apparent the team is looking to offload its remaining assets. Conley finished last season by averaging 13.7 points, 5.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.3 steals. He also shot 40.8% from deep, and even more surprisingly, he played 72 games. Nonetheless, Conley's best days are more than likely in the past. However, he should provide sporadic value for fantasy managers no matter where he suits up in 2022-23.

Danilo Gallinari (knee) recently tearing his ACL, the door is open for Williams to benefit on the fantasy end. The 23-year-old played well last season. However, he picked things up throughout the postseason by averaging 8.6 points and 3.8 rebounds while shooting 39.3% from downtown. Williams is undoubtedly worth a look in deep formats, and his fantasy appeal may rise even higher if
Robert Williams III misses time in 2022-23.

Bojan Bogdanovic could be on the move. With the team making it known it's in a rebuilding stage after dealing
Donovan Mitchell and
Rudy Gobert, Bogdanovic may be the next to go. Despite getting up there in age, the 33-year-old had a solid season in 2021-22, averaging 18.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists while shooting 38.7% from deep. Utah has already been in talks with other teams, so there's a good chance he'll be dealt ahead of the regular season. However, while Bogdanovic likely won't be a routine fantasy contributor, especially on the defensive end, he should have more than a few potent showings during the year wherever he ends up.
