2 years agoPortland has waived forward Didi Louzada. The 23-year-old began his career with the Pelicans after the team selected him in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft. He didn't see the floor much during his time in New Orleans and was traded to the Trail Blazers in the deal that sent C.J. McCollum to the Pelicans. There's a chance Louzada could find a new club moving ahead, although he won't offer anything to fantasy managers if he does. However, it's also probable that he has already played his final game at the professional level.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: NBA.com

2 years agoThe Raptors have waived guard Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk. The 25-year-old has suited up for four teams since he was drafted in 2018 and has averaged 6.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists throughout his career. With that said, his fantasy value is non-existent, and it likely won't change if he finds work ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: NBA.com

2 years agoLos Angeles Clippers guard John Wall has looked good during offseason workouts, according to NBA insider Marc Stein. The veteran received a buyout from his former team, the Houston Rockets, and after clearing waivers, he signed with L.A. Wall, who didn't play in 2021-22, has averaged 19.1 points, 9.1 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.7 steals throughout his career. It's doubtful he'll return to an All-Star level. Yet, he could surprise a lot of people, so managers shouldn't completely write him off. However, he'll need to stay on the floor, which has been an issue over the years.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Marc Stein

2 years agoBoston Celtics forward Sam Hauser may receive more playing time to start the season. Danilo Gallinari (knee) tore his meniscus during a FIBA World Cup qualifier, so the door could be open for Hauser to benefit. He agreed to a three-year, $6 million contract in the offseason after averaging 2.5 points and 1.1 rebounds while shooting an impressive 43.2% from deep in 2021-22. Although adding the 24-year-old could be beneficial in deeper fantasy formats initially, he will likely spend most of his minutes on the bench once Gallinari returns.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Chris Forsberg

2 years agoAtlanta Hawks guard Bogdan Bogdanovic (knee) is currently doing on-court work in Serbia after undergoing right knee surgery back in May. He is moving in a positive direction and is anticipated to be ready for the preseason, although there's still a chance he won't be. The oft-injured 30-year-old played 63 games last season and averaged 15.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.1 steals. He also shot 36.8% from downtown, a significant decrease from the 2021-22 campaign (43.8%). Nonetheless, Bogdanovic has proven to be a capable producer when available. However, his inability to remain healthy has caused him to slide in fantasy drafts heading toward October.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Johnny Askounis

2 years agoOrlando Magic guard Gary Harris (knee) suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee. He will undergo further testing, with surgery remaining a possibility. Harris was traded to Orlando from Denver in March 2021 and signed a two-year, $26 million contract extension in June. Although the veteran isn't expected to start this season, he should get a consistent role in the rotation, so he does have some fantasy value in deeper formats. However, there's a good chance Harris will miss some time moving ahead, opening the door for Terrence Ross and R.J. Hampton to receive more minutes.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Khobi Price

2 years agoFree-agent forward Yuta Watanabe agreed to a one-year contract with Brooklyn on Sunday. The 27-year-old has four professional seasons under his belt, suiting up for the Grizzlies and Raptors and averaging 3.8 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. It's a non-guaranteed deal, so there's a good chance he won't make the regular season roster. Yet, even if he does, he won't be fantasy relevant in any format.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Shams Charania

2 years agoBoston Celtics forward Danilo Gallinari (knee) suffered a meniscus tear in his left knee during a FIBA World Cup qualifier on Saturday. His prognosis didn't look favorable when the injury occurred. However, after further tests and an MRI, he didn't sustain any damage to the surrounding ligaments or ACL. This is certainly good news. Yet, it's unknown how long Gallinari will be out, so there's a chance he won't be available once the regular season opens in October. Grant Williams III and Sam Hauser will benefit if that's the case, although the former should receive considerably more minutes per game.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Shams Charania

2 years agoFree-agent center Tristan Thompson is on the Nets' radar. The veteran has played for four teams after his nine-year tenure with the Cavs came to an end. Through his career, he's averaged 9.0 boards, 8.4 rebounds. Nevertheless, if Thompson signs with Brooklyn, he isn't expected to receive much work. However, considering Nicolas Claxton has battled injuries over the years, Thompson could make his way into the starting lineup at various points in the year. Yet, that still won't make him an attractive fantasy option.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Michael Scotto

2 years agoFree-agent forward Chris Silva has signed with the Hawks, with the terms of the deal remaining undisclosed. It is an Exhibit 10 contract, so he'll be competing for a roster spot throughout training camp. The 25-year-old went undrafted in 2019. Since then, he's made a total of 69 professional appearances, suiting up for the Heat, Kings, and Timberwolves and averaging 2.8 points and 2.7 rebounds. While there's a chance he won't see the floor throughout the regular season for Atlanta for one reason or another, he could work his way up the depth chart if John Collins is moved. However, Silva has no fantasy value at the moment, so he shouldn't be considered during drafts ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Lauren Williams

2 years agoUtah has acquired guard Talen Horton-Tucker from the Lakers in exchange for defensive specialist Patrick Beverley. The 21-year-old, who inked a three-year, $32 million deal in August 2021, has averaged 9.3 points, 2.8 assists, and 2.6 rebounds throughout his 131 games in L.A. However, after failing to meet expectations, Horton-Tucker will now have a chance to shine with the Jazz this season. Nevertheless, he has more than enough upside to warrant late-round fantasy consideration in drafts, although his career 27.6% shooting from deep won't win over managers in category leagues.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Shams Charania
