Patriots Cancel Practice After Another Positive COVID-19 Test

4 years agoThe New England Patriots are canceling their practice on Friday after a positive COVID-19 test, according to a source. There is also a second test that they are awaiting to confirm as a positive. This now puts the team's Week 6 matchup with the Broncos in doubt after it was already moved back from the originally scheduled date in Week 5. Quarterback Cam Newton and cornerback Stephon Gilmore tested positive for COVID-19 and were forced to sit out of the Week 4 loss to the Chiefs, but they have since been cleared and were on track to play this Sunday.
