Phillip Ervin Hits Solo Home Run Sunday
6 years agoCincinnati Reds outfielder Phillip Ervin provided half of his team's offense in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Cubs, going 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk. Ervin took a fourth-inning Jose Quintana fastball deep to left-center field for his seventh HR of the season. The 26-year-old has done a decent job since receiving routine playing time but is hitting just .186 in September. However, he also has three HR and six RBI in that time frame as well as a .185 BABIP, so he may be able to turn things around in the remaining few weeks.
