4 years agoThe Texas Rangers have slowed down pitcher Jesse Chavez (elbow, shoulder) as he recovers from offseason surgery on his right elbow while also trying to rebuild strength in his right shoulder. The suspension of the 2020 season has allowed Chavez to take his time in his rehab to build up his arm. The veteran right-hander is throwing at 60 feet right now and expects to be long tossing by the end of the month. Chavez should get back on a mound in May. We don't know yet when the regular season will begin, but there's still a chance that he'll be ready for Opening Day. The 36-year-old should serve as a swing man for Texas when he's healthy, but he doesn't have much fantasy value unless he's starting games, and even then he's mostly an AL-only commodity or low-cost DFS streamer.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
