Rio Ruiz Plays Well In Return To Lineup
4 years agoBaltimore Orioles third baseman/first baseman Rio Ruiz (illness) had a solid overall performance in Monday's 12-3 win over the Pirates. Ruiz had missed more than a week with an undisclosed illness, but he went 2-for-3 with two doubles in his return to the lineup. He also made a nice diving stop in the second inning. Things aren't looking great for the 26-year-old; he is hitting just .200 this spring, has a career .220 batting average and the O's are reportedly finalizing a deal to bring free-agent third baseman Maikel Franco to the team. Ruiz will really have to prove himself this spring if he hopes to maintain his role on the team, but fantasy managers should avoid him either way.
