7 months agoIn 2019, Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones II bounced back from a disappointing rookie campaign and looked much more like the prospect that was receiving first-round buzz prior to the 2018 Draft. While he faced a tumultuous timeshare with the significantly less talented Peyton Barber, when the opportunity was present and plentiful, Jones displayed the running skills and tackle-breaking ability that make him a good back. He eclipsed 1000 yards from scrimmage as a sophomore, participating heavily not only as a runner but also a pass-catcher. Unfortunately, his one fatal flaw is something head coach Bruce Arians does not take lightly, pass-protection. Jones ranked as one of the worst running backs when asked to block in the entire NFL and if he does not improve, it will not be long before he loses snaps to third round pick, Ke'Shawn Vaughn. While Arians historically has preferred one workhorse RB, with the way the league is going, and Tom Brady's history, it is fair to assume that there will continue to be a timeshare in Tampa and Jones will lead it from the start. Jones is absolutely worth grabbing around his ADP and maybe even a round early if running back is running thin. Luckily, there is enough hype around Vaughn for Jones to possibly even fall in drafts.--Kev Mahserejian - RotoBaller
