Ryan Brasier Placed On Bereavement List

5 years agoThe Boston Red Sox placed relief pitcher Ryan Brasier on the bereavement list/family emergency leave on Tuesday and recalled pitcher Darwinzon Hernandez from the minors in order to make his first major league start. Brasier will be out for at least several days. He's been the team's co-closer with Matt Barnes and has a 3.77 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, six saves and 25 strikeouts in 28 2/3 innings over 31 relief outings this year. Barnes should see most of the save chances in Boston for however long Brasier is away from the team. Hernandez is a very shaky streaming option in deeper leagues in his first big league start against an underrated Texas lineup on Tuesday.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
