4 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Ryan Yarbrough tossed 5 2/3 scoreless innings against the Marlins on Friday night in a 6-4 victory. Yarbrough retired the first nine Marlins in order, before Miguel Rojas beat out an infield single to break up the no-hit bid. He would end the day allowing just four hits while striking out three, and left the game with the lead but a three-run seventh inning by the Marlins would give Yarbrough a no-decision in his first start of the year. While he only got three strikeouts against the Marlins, Yarbrough has a career 20.3 percent strikeout rate and should be a solid strikeout guy going forward.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
