7 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Sam Gaviglio is expected to start on Saturday against the Boston Red Sox, according to manager John Gibbons. He'd be taking the spot of Marco Estrada (glute), who was placed on the disabled list Friday. Gaviglio turned in a couple solid spot starts when he was first called on, but he hasn't been as good recently, including giving up six earned runs in just 1 2/3 innings against Atlanta on Wednesday. Given the fact that he pitched in the middle of this week, Gaviglio is unlikely to be long for Saturday's game against Boston.
