7 years agoMiami Marlins pitcher Sandy Alcantara threw two scoreless innings during his 2018 Spring Training debut on Saturday. Alcantara, who came over to Miami from St. Louis in the Marcell Ozuna trade, needed just 18 pitches to retire six Nationals in a 3-2 Miami win. According to Joe Frisaro of MLB.com, the Marlins view Alcantara as a future ace, though they don't plan on rushing his development. According to Frisaro, Alcantara is expected to begin the season in the minors.--Steven Slivka
