7 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher/outfielder Shohei Ohtani is out of the lineup against Mariners left-hander James Paxton on Thursday. Ohtani has been decent on the year at the plate, but he's hitting just .143 with none of his seven home runs against southpaws, so it's not a surprise to see him on the bench Thursday. He's more valuable as a pitcher in fantasy, but it's unclear if he'll pitch again this year due to elbow issues. Albert Pujols is the designated hitter Thursday and is hitting fifth. He's hitting .179 with two home runs and five RBI in his career against Paxton in 29 at-bats. Pujols is a shell of his former self and has limited upside in daily formats.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
