Texans Fire Bill O'Brien After 0-4 Start

4 years agoThe Houston Texans fired head coach and general manager Bill O'Brien on Monday. This comes after an earlier report from ESPN stating that O'Brien wasn't concerned about his job after an 0-4 start to the season. It didn't help that the Texans kicked off the year with tilts against the Chiefs, Ravens and Steelers, but Houston lost to the previously winless Vikings this past Sunday. The Texans are the only team in the NFL through four games not to force a single turnover on defense, and they have a minus-five turnover differential. Houston also ranks last with 181.8 rushing yards allowed per game. O'Brien's moves as the GM have been questioned, most notably trading away All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins in the offseason and trading away the team's first-round picks in 2020 and 2021 for left tackle Laremy Tunsil.
