Wander Franco Expected To Be On Taxi Squad

4 years agoTampa Bay Rays shortstop Wander Franco, the top prospect in baseball in 2020 per MLB Pipeline, is expected to be on the team's taxi squad when the roster is officially announced, according to a source. Franco should already be owned in dynasty/keeper leagues, but it might still be a long shot for him to see much, if any, big league playing time in just a 60-game season this year. The switch-hitting Dominican made his way up to High-A last year and hit .327/.398/.487 with nine homers, 53 RBI, 82 runs and 18 stolen bases in 114 games with Single-A Bowling Green and High-A Charlotte last year. Franco has All-Star upside at shortstop, but the excitement might not come until 2021 in redraft leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
