4 years agoThe St. Louis Cardinals and catcher Yadier Molina are reportedly working on a contract extension. The lifelong Cardinal is looking for a deal that would keep him signed through the 2022 season. Molina has declined offensively, but he's still solid with the bat in a very limited offensive position, and pitchers love throwing to the veteran backstop. It seems more a matter of when than if in terms of the two sides agreeing to an extension. Catching prospect Andrew Knizner, meanwhile, may end up as a trade chip if Molina sticks around long term.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
