7 years agoThe New York Yankees have made a strong offer for Orioles shortstop Manny Machado, according to sources. It's unknown if the Yanks are the favorites for Machado, however. Machado is the big trade piece available at this year's deadline, and he won't come cheap, even for a potential rental. He's hitting a robust .314/.385/.574 with 23 home runs, 63 RBI, seven steals and 46 runs on the year and has been one of the most valuable fantasy assets in 2018. A move to a stacked lineup in a great hitting environment would make him even better. He'd likely play third base in the Bronx, which would be bad news for impressive rookie Miguel Andujar. The Orioles were asking for pitching prospect Justus Sheffield, but it remains to be seen if the Yankees are willing to include their No. 2 prospect.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
