4 years agoHouston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel is slumping at the plate heading into the final week of Spring Training. The 36-year-old is only 5-for-30 at the plate this spring and is slugging only .300. The veteran could simply be trying to get his timing down and Spring Training numbers need to be taken with a grain of salt. But Gurriel struggled at the plate during last season's shortened year, slashing only .232/.274/.384 after a monster 2019 season. Gurriel will have late-round appeal in upcoming drafts and the hope is he can return to the hitter who smacked 31 home runs with 104 runs batted in during that '19 campaign.--Joey C - RotoBaller
