Week 15 Tight End Outlooks: Delanie Walker, Gary Barnidge, Julius Thomas

Delanie Walker is enjoying his finest season as a pro this year with Tennessee, and he’s become one of the most reliable tight ends in fantasy football.

Walker has averaged more than 10 fantasy points per game over the last month, and only once did he score a touchdown in that span. He’s seeing a consistent amount of targets from Marcus Mariota, and only once since Week 6 has Walker finished with less than six catches in a game.

Walker has been as reliable as they come, even in the toughest of matchups. The Titans will be in for another tough matchup against New England this week, but if the game turns out to be an early blowout, look for Mariota to find Walker often.

Like Walker, Gary Barnidge has been one of the most reliable tight ends in fantasy football this year. Barnidge came out of obscurity to become Cleveland’s most dangerous weapon, and he’s done it magnificently. Barnidge has scored double-digit points in eight of his 13 games this season, including a streak where he had six straight double-digit outings from Weeks 3-8.

Barnidge has averaged more than 10 points per game over his last four matchups, and he’ll get a chance to see what he can do against a difficult Seattle Seahawks defense on Sunday. According to ESPN, the Seahawks have allowed nearly nine points per game to opposing tight ends this season, so Barnidge could enjoy some success this week.

With a touchdown in four straight games, Julius Thomas is turning out to be exactly what the Jacksonville Jaguars hoped he would when they signed him in the offseason. With three weeks left to play, the Jaguars are only one game out of the AFC South lead.

The Jags’ offense has been one of the hottest in football over the last three weeks, and Thomas has become a favorite target of quarterback Blake Bortles. Thomas has averaged more than 11 fantasy points per game over his last four games, and he’ll have a juicy matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, a team that’s allowed four touchdowns to opposing tight ends over the last six weeks, according to ESPN.
