Games of the Day

Atlanta (+4) @ Dallas (232.5 total)

So I was messing around on Excel today and came up with my own little formula for games I wanted to target in GPPs with game stacks. It's really nothing complicated, just a combination of pace, defensive ratings, and Vegas totals that I scaled to create a model. My goal was to see if I could find games that may not have the highest totals that are also very targetable for fantasy points.

So while there are two games with higher totals than the games I am going to feature here (BKN-IND, WAS-TOR), my model suggests that this Atlanta-Dallas game isn't far behind for fantasy goodness.

Luka Doncic has one of the best matchups on the slate here and Kristaps Porzingis is fresh off a dominant outing against the T-Wolves. You can play them both, or just pair your favorite with someone like Josh Richardson or Tim Hardaway Jr. on the Dallas side. Meanwhile, I really like the bigs for Atlanta here as Dallas has struggled on the interior. John Collins went off for a huge outing when these teams met recently, but I might pivot over to Clint Capela as a contrarian option at center. Kevin Huerter is a great value piece on FanDuel that you should consider adding to this stack, too.

Honorable Mention: New Orleans (-2.5) @ Chicago (229.5 total)

Zach LaVine is a core play for me and Patrick Williams is a key cash piece on FanDuel. Satoransky is a sneaky value piece off the bench for the Bulls, too, and they still haven't priced up Valentine on FanDuel. The Bulls play fast and loose and get the Pelicans at home tonight in the second half of a back-to-back. I think they can keep this game close and Vegas seems to agree with that tight spread. For New Orleans, both Lonzo Ball and Eric Bledsoe have favorable matchups, while Zion Williamson has been as steady as can be lately (and didn't play full minutes last night due to foul trouble).

The Fade of the Day

There's really only one game I am ready to entirely cross off tonight and it's the Cleveland-Denver game. Not only does this game have a low total and slow pace, but there simply aren't that many appealing options for me on either side based on the matchups. Yes, Nikola Jokic is viable just about every night but I don't think spending up for him is a good use of your salary cap tonight. The Nuggets tend to spread out their statistical production among the rest of their rotation quite a bit so even with Gary Harris and P.J. Dozier out, I'm really not all that interested in targeting these team (though MPJ and Will Barton are tempting at their FD prices).
