3 years agoTexas Rangers relief pitcher Alex Claudio (ankle) has been activated from the disabled list. He ended up just missing the minimum amount of time with a left ankle sprain. Claudio has pitched to a 4.32 ERA and a 23/7 K/BB ratio in 2018. For now, Claudio's fantasy value is limited as a middle reliever. However, there's a chance that current closer Keone Kela is moved prior to the deadline. Claudio held a 2.50 ERA and a 56/15 K/BB ratio with 11 saves in 2017. If he is promoted to closer, he would become an immediate pickup. If trade talks on Kela become stronger, Claudio would be worth a speculative add in all leagues.--Dan Fappiano

3 years agoTexas Rangers relief pitcher Alex Claudio has been placed on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to Wednesday, due to a sprained left ankle. Claudio has been a relatively minor part of the Rangers bullpen this season, and has not had a great deal of success. So far in 38 appearances, Claudio has thrown 41 2/3 innings, with a 4.32 ERA, 23 strikeouts and a save. This move to the DL should not have much effect for fantasy as Claudio did not have a major role within the Rangers bullpen, and he has not provided much upside when he has been on the mound.--Ben Rolfe - RotoBaller
