7 months agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Kole Calhoun is playing right field and batting leadoff versus Padres right-hander Cal Quantrill on Saturday. The veteran is 7-for-16 since getting bumped up to the leadoff spot on Monday, and makes an excellent DFS play since he's hitting .286 with five long balls versus righties this season. Overall he's had a stellar debut season with the D'backs with 12 runs and 14 RBI through 18 games, and should continue to provide sterling counting stats at the top of the order in the desert.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller

8 months agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Kole Calhoun, who had missed the first seven days of summer camp after testing positive for COVID-19, reported to camp on Friday. Calhoun will now get to work in preparing for his first season with the Snakes after spending eight seasons with the Angels. The left-handed slugger blasted a career-high 33 home runs in his final season in Anaheim in 2019, but that was accompanied by a weak .232 batting average in 552 at-bats. The 32-year-old has hit over 20 home runs only one other time in his career (2015), but he joins a solid lineup and will have a hitter-friendly environment as his home park. Consider him worth a late-round pick for his power to round out your outfield depth.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
