6 months agoTampa Bay Rays relief pitcher Nick Anderson (forearm) has been activated from the 10-day injured list. He has been sidelined the last couple of weeks due to inflammation in his right forearm. However, he has been throwing lately without any issues, so he's expected to jump back into high leverage situations. Anderson should be in the mix for saves, but manager Kevin Cash never really sticks to one pitcher. It'll be tough to trust him as a reliable ninth inning option in fantasy leagues.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

6 months agoTampa Bay Rays right-handed pitcher Nick Anderson will throw a simulated game of around 20 pitches Wednesday as he makes his way back from inflammation in his right forearm. His progression finally represents good news on the injury front for the Rays, who have seen their relief corps decimated by maladies this season, which means that Anderson will have as many innings as he can handle down the stretch. Having not yet allowed a run in his first 11 appearances with 15 strikeouts and a 0.54 WHIP, Anderson will be a must-roster commodity in all formats upon his activation, which may be nearing.--Jesse Borek - RotoBaller
