7 months agoTampa Bay Rays general manager Erik Neander said that starting pitcher Brent Honeywell Jr.'s (elbow) recovery is going "really well." However, Honeywell isn't on the team's 60-man player pool for the shortened 2020 season because the Rays wanted to go with active players. The team's No. 6 prospect per MLB Pipeline, the 25-year-old right-hander has been hit hard by injuries the last two years -- Tommy John in 2018 and a fractured right elbow in 2019. Before the injuries, though, Honeywell was a consensus top-100 prospect, and he can be extremely nasty when healthy. Tampa is content to let him rehab during the shortened season in 2020, with hopes that he can be ready to go for spring training in 2021. Those in dynasty/keeper leagues may be running out of patience, but Honeywell is still worth stashing in those formats if you have the room.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
