6 months agoMiami Marlins outfielder Magneuris Sierra has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a strained right hamstring. Sierra was hitting .278/.372/.417 with four stolen bases. He was starting to develop legitimate mixed league value, so hopefully the injury doesn't keep him out too long. In a corresponding move, the Marlins called up left-handed pitcher Brandon Leibrandt.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller

7 months agoMiami Marlins outfielder Magneuris Sierra got the start in center field on Sunday and did well, going 2-for-3 with a triple, a double, and a walk. He drove in two runs as well and played well defensively. With the other center field options (Jonathan Villar and Jon Berti) struggling to get going on the young season, Sierra could end up with some more playing time if he keeps showing up like he did today. He showed what he could do at the end of last season and has the speed to certainly be a useful fantasy asset if he gets consistent playing time. For now, owners in need of stolen bases should keep an eye on his playing time.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
