8 months agoChicago White Sox general manager Rick Hahn announced on Friday that starting pitcher Michael Kopech has opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19. The 24-year-old right-hander has one of the best arms in baseball and was recovering from Tommy John surgery which held him out all of last year. You can obviously cross him off your draft boards for the 2020 season, and the White Sox will continue to work towards developing him for the 2021 season, where he could be a bargain as a sleeper after missing two straight seasons. Chicago's starting rotation this year should be comprised of Lucas Giolito, Dallas Keuchel, Gio Gonzalez, Dylan Cease and Reynaldo Lopez.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

8 months agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Michael Kopech (personal) will be away from the team's camp as he deals with a personal matter. White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said that Kopech is healthy, but there is no timetable for his return. Kopech is expected to be with the big league club this season after recovering from Tommy John surgery last year. The right-hander offers high upside for fantasy owners in all formats and already should be owned in dynasty leagues.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
