Recent Update

6 months agoDetroit Tigers top prospect Casey Mize has shown flashes of what made him the No. 1 overall pick in 2018 throughout the first five starts of his Major League career. On Thursday, he faces Cleveland, a favorable matchup with the club having posted a collective .686 OPS through its first 48 games. While Mize will have a difficult path to his first victory -- facing off against Cleveland ace Shane Bieber -- he could be an intriguing DFS selection if he is allowed to see his pitch count climb. Mize has not allowed more than three earned runs in any of his starts, with his 5.85 ERA more emblematic of his inability to be allowed to go deep into starts.--Jesse Borek - RotoBaller

Older News

7 months agoThe Detroit Tigers have officially called up top pitching prospect Casey Mize and he will make his MLB debut Wednesday against the Chicago White Sox. Mize was the number one overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft and he has done nothing but excel in the minors since then. Last year, spread across High-A and Double-A, Mize pitched 109.1 innings, posting a 2.55 ERA and 0.94 WHIP while striking out 106 batters. He should be added in all fantasy leagues due to his high upside. While the Tigers will likely have a short leash on him at the start, he still has a solid shot at giving a significant boost to the back of your rotation.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
