Recent Update

6 months agoSt. Louis Cardinals left-handed pitching prospect Matthew Liberatore was brought in to throw a simulated game in order to help Paul DeJong and Yadier Molina ramp up for big league pitching. Ranked as the Cardinals’ No. 3 prospect -- and No. 62 overall in the Majors -- per MLB Pipeline, Liberatore is yet to make his Major League debut, but his being tabbed for such a role shows St. Louis’ belief in his abilities. He has compiled a 2.59 ERA across 111 Minor League innings thus far in his career, striking out 113 batters. Still just 20 years old, Liberatore should be a cornerstone of keepers leagues for years to come as owners await his arrival.--Jesse Borek - RotoBaller

8 months agoThe St. Louis Cardinals added top prospects Nolan Gorman and Matthew Liberatore to their organizational roster on Wednesday. Jordan Walker and Masyn Winn, the team's top two picks in last month's draft, and outfielder Tre Fletcher, were three of the 12 players the team added. These younger prospects were added to the team's second summer camp site. Winn will get a chance to play shortstop and pitch, and most of these prospects were added strictly for development purposes in the shortened 2020 season. Others added to the roster on Wednesday include right Nabil Crismatt, infielder Evan Mendoza, third baseman Malcom Nunez, right-hander Roel Ramirez, catcher Julio Rodriguez and righties Angel Rondon and Alvaro Seijas.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
