1000Bulbs.com 500: DFS NASCAR Lineup Sleepers And Drivers To Avoid

NASCAR is on it's way to the widest track in the game this week for the 1000Bulbs.com 500. Last April, I had the pleasure of going to Talladega to cover the Geico 500, and I'm literally in a truck right now on my way back for one more round. This week I will be active on the RotoBaller NASCAR Twitter account, (@NASCARDFS) as well as my personal account, (@GarageGuyChase) and the Garage Guys Fantasy Sports Podcast account (@GGFSPodcast).

Before we kick off this wild weekend in Dirty Dega, It's important we cover the wildness that happened last week at Dover. Joey Logano and Chase Elliott suffered some bad luck at the beginning of the Drydene 400, and cost DFS owners big before they even had a chance to enjoy the race (woof). Kyle Larson finally pulled off his first win of 2019 and received the Golden Miles The Monster trophy.

Talladega is a whole different ballgame when it comes to DFS. As I noted back in April, you will definitely want to have some low-cost drivers towards the rear in your lineups to be able to secure the bag this weekend. With that being said, let's get this party started!!!

What We Learned At Dover

  • Kyle Larson's wife can chug a beer better than him
  • Joey Logano is going to race for the win regardless of his situation
  • Matt DiBenedetto defeated the odds
  • Chase Elliott still has some cushion in the playoffs heading to Talladega

DFS Lineup Sleepers - 1000Bulbs.com 500

Matt DiBenedetto

DiBenedetto hasn't had great runs at this track in the past, but his recent competitiveness should get him pushing for a Top 10 finish this go-round. DiBenedetto picked up sponsorship from Barstool Sports for this race, and will have a great (and rowdy) support system around him. He only put up 13.5 FPTS back in April, but expect to see that increase on Sunday.

Corey Lajoie

Lajoie had a huge place differential back in April, moving from 33rd to 11th. He is one of the guys that should start towards the rear, and as long as he can get around "The Big One" he should be able to deliver some good fantasy production. Lajoie has averaged 35 FPTS in Dega since 2017.

Paul Menard

Menard is looking to land him one more win before he hangs up the racing gloves, and this week he will have his shot if he can stay on the track for the full race. Depending on his starting position, Menard can work the superspeedway to get you those numbers you need to win. Menard has averaged 33 FPTS at this track since 2017.

DFS Lineup Avoids - 1000Bulbs.com 500

Matt Tifft

You may be tempted to start Tifft this week because of his salary, but don't fall into this trap. Tifft is one of the worst low price drivers on the slate this week. In his career, Tifft averages -12 FPTS at Dega, and there's no better way to ruin your weekend then by putting this feller in your lineup.

Erik Jones

Jones has been shaky since he fell out of the playoffs, and I expect that trend to continue heading into this weekend. Aside from the crappy luck he's had, (or created for himself) Jones has not had good experiences at this track. With an average of 8 FPTS since 2017, Jones is simply not worth the money.

Kyle Larson

Last week's race winner is in for a rough ride this weekend. Larson was in one of the worst wrecks of his career at this track back in April. I hope he can avoid that this go-round, but even with the accident aside, Larson only scores 25 FPTS on average at Dega.
