BALLER MOVE: Target in Rounds 10-12
ANALYSIS: Melky Cabrera is coming off a good season with the Blue Jays in which he hit .301 with 16 HR and 73 RBI.
Cabrera has hit 64% of his home runs from the left side of the plate in his career, and his new team, the White Sox, play in a park with a 3.78% home run rate and a 330 foot left field fence, so the move to Chicago may help him knock a couple more over the wall this year.
Cabrera will most likely bat second for Chicago. He’s a .292 career hitter in the two-hole and has more HR, RBI and R there than in any other spot in the order. With Jose Abreu, Adam LaRoche and Avisail Garcia able to drive in runs, Cabrera may sniff his career high of 102 runs.
He finished 65th overall (25th among outfielders) on ESPN’s player rater in 2014, but his current ADP is 167th overall and 43rd for OF. Despite a PED suspension in 2012 and an injury-hampered 2013, I’d be happy getting Cabrera somewhere in rounds 10-12 of 12-team leagues.
