BALLER MOVE: Target ~65
CURRENT ADP: 80
ANALYSIS: Duke Johnson is an elite athlete who has the potential to change an entire offense. His game has yet to fully translate to the NFL, but his skills as a pass-catcher out of the backfield have already been on display— he finished fifth among running backs in receiving yards and fourth in receptions last year. He has also proven to be an excellent pass-blocker, so he could realistically be an every-down back for the Browns.
As it stands now, he will be competing for the Browns' starting running back job with Isaiah Crowell, who averaged just 3.8 yards per attempt last season. Granted, Johnson only averaged 3.6, but this was only across 104 attempts.
New Browns head coach Hue Jackson led his team to a top-seven finish in rushing attempts and touchdowns in each of the last four seasons in which he was an offensive coordinator, so whomever wins the job could be in for a big season. Additionally, Robert Griffin III, a candidate for Cleveland’s starting quarterback job, is a dual-threat QB who will help open up for the lanes for the running backs.
Per Fantasy Football Calculator, Johnson is being taken as the No. 30 RB in standard leagues and No. 21 RB in PPR leagues, and he could finish as a solid flex play or even an RB2.
