BALLER MOVE: Target ~175
CURRENT ADP: 190.8
ANALYSIS: Last season, running mostly short and intermediate routes, Pierre Garçon recorded 72 catches on 110 targets with just one drop. He is a precise route runner with 1,529 yards, 140 receptions and only one drop over the last two seasons.
While rookie Josh Doctson was a highly-touted jump-ball receiver coming out of college, he has proven nothing at football’s highest level. For now, the Redskins should lean on their veterans for solid and consistent production. Even among the returning wideouts, Jamison Crowder is a smaller, shiftier receiver and DeSean Jackson is mostly a deep threat.
Garçon is rated as the No. 71 receiver off the board in drafts according to FantasyPros. I believe he will outproduce WR71 by a fair margin, and has a chance to be a top 30 receiver this season. Draft him late and reap the benefits of fantasy players bailing on a dependable veteran too quickly.
