Position, Team, NFL Draft Spot: QB, Buffalo Bills, 4.41
Dynasty Positional Rank: 40+
Redraft Target Round: Unranked, not viable for 2016
Analysis: Jones looked good in his last two seasons at Ohio State, as he mixed in with J.T. Barrett as the starter. He’s a raw prospect, who comes with a ton of potential for a fourth round pick, but he also comes with quite a bit of risk. He landed in the perfect situation, though, as the Bills may have selected him to be their quarterback of the future.
Jones is entirely too raw of a prospect to have any value this season. Tyrod Taylor and E.J. Manuel are ahead of him on the depth chart. He would need an injury to both of these quarterbacks to work his way onto the field. In other words, he should not be drafted this season in re-draft leagues.
Jones’ dynasty outlook is much more complicated than that. Tyrod Taylor played well enough for a new contract, but the Bills do not seem like they want to give him an extension. They will also let E.J. Manuel walk after this season, which could open the door for Jones. Jones has all the physical abilities to dominate in the NFL, but he also struggles with his accuracy, which is a cause for concern. All in all, there is no certainty around Jones in fantasy, but he’s a high upside dynasty pick.
