Position, Team, NFL Draft Spot: RB, Dallas Cowboys, 1.04
Dynasty Positional Rank: 3
Redraft Target Round: First or second round selection
Analysis: There were a few question marks surrounding Elliott’s draft stock, as he could have been selected anywhere from the fourth pick to the thirteenth pick. Ultimately, the Cowboys used the fourth overall pick to draft Elliott. This was a bit of a shock with Jalen Ramsey still on the board, but it was an ideal fit for Elliott’s fantasy stock.
Elliott is an NFL ready running back with the potential to be an elite fantasy asset. He’s going to start from day one for the Cowboys, and he’ll be running behind arguably the best offensive line in the NFL. Elliott will also benefit from the Cowboys passing attack, as teams won’t be able to stack the box and he will likely be used as a receiving weapon out of the backfield. Elliott is going extremely high in fantasy drafts right now, so you’re going to have to pay up to get him on your team. I wouldn’t be surprised if Elliott is able to record over 2,500 all-purpose yards this season, and he’s an RB1 on my radar.
As you can probably tell from my season long outlook, I also love Elliott in dynasty leagues, as well. He’s actually an even better asset to have in dynasty leagues because he is bound to hit a few bumps in the road during his rookie season. He’ll be running behind one of the best offensive lines in the NFL for years to come, and he’s a tremendous dynasty prospect.
