Position, Team, NFL Draft Spot: RB, Baltimore Ravens, 4.36
Dynasty Positional Rank: 34
Redraft Target Round: Mid-round selection
Analysis: Dixon surprisingly fell in the draft, but that has more to do with the depth of the available running backs than his talent. If this were a weaker class, Dixon likely would have been selected in the third round. Ultimately, the Ravens stopped his fall late in the fourth round.
It’s tough to get a gauge on Dixon for this season. He’s an ideal fit for Marc Trestman, who loves throwing to the running back out of the backfield. Aside from outstanding rushing skills, Dixon recorded 87 receptions in 47 career games, including 63 receptions over his last two seasons. With that being said, he’s buried on the depth chart in Baltimore and Dixon displayed trouble holding onto the ball in college. He isn’t a great option in re-draft leagues, but he also isn’t a bad late round flier for his potential.
Dixon has a much better fantasy outlook in dynasty leagues. He was an elite running back in college, although he did play at a smaller school. He has all the tools and versatility to see the field one he fixes his fumbling issues. Dixon is going to be more of a draft and stash type of player, but he has tremendous upside and at worst he will likely work his way into a third down back type of role in his first or second season.
