Position, Team, NFL Draft Spot: TE, New York Giants, 6.09
Dynasty Positional Rank: 40+
Redraft Target Round: Unranked, not viable for 2016
Analysis: Adams was seen as one of the most complete tight ends in the NFL Draft by the media, but teams must not have felt the same way. Often times there is a lot of false information being thrown around the media, and Adams was the victim of it this season. He was then considered a draft day steal when the New York Giants selected him in the sixth round.
Adams will have a limited role his rookie season. Larry Donnell and Will Tye are penciled in ahead of him on the depth chart, and he likely will not have the opportunity to challenge them in his first season. He shouldn’t be drafted in re-draft leagues.
Adams has great upside in dynasty leagues. He needs to show that he has consistent hands, but he has all the physical tools to be a great receiving tight end. He tested well at the NFL Combine and he displayed good upside in college. He also is a solid run blocker, which will help him get on the field faster. Donnell and Tye aren’t elite tight ends that have locks on the starting jobs, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see Adams starting for the Giants in a couple of years.
