Position, Team, NFL Draft Spot: WR, New York Jets, 7.20
Dynasty Positional Rank: 100+
Redraft Target Round: Unranked, not viable for 2016
Analysis: Peake was one of the biggest surprises on draft night. NFL.com had him rated as a third round pick, but he fell into the seventh round where the Jets took a chance on him. He isn’t the most polished wide receiver, but he is big and fast, which is why it was such a big surprise that he fell so far in the draft.
It’s difficult to get a read on how much of an impact Peake is going to have this season, but it likely won’t be draft worthy. He’s a raw prospect that will be buried on the depth chart behind a few wide receivers. He could essentially take a season to learn different aspects of the NFL, which would help him later in his career. With that being said, it isn’t out of the question that he performs well in pre-season and carves out a small role in the offense. Still, he isn’t worth selecting in re-draft leagues.
Peake is an intriguing dynasty league prospect. He’s on a team that has aging wide receivers and Peake has the physical attributes to be a number one receiver at some point in his career. He will need to stay healthy for that to happen, which is a bit of a concern. Peake has great upside in dynasty leagues, and he’s a receiver that could go a bit overlooked because he was selected so late in the NFL Draft.
