Welcome to the Friday, July 19th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on July 19th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Fernando Tatis Jr. 15HR, 14SB, .325AVG boost value to top-three round talent in 2020.
- Domingo German, my nominee for breakout pitcher of the year. 12-2, 3.38ERA, 4.52K/BB(20.7%).
- Yep, Boone’s guys are ‘Savages In The Box’. Giovanny Urshela(9), Aaron Hicks(9), Luke Voit(18) demonstrated such savagery.
- Austin Meadows w/HR in each of his last three nights(15). Only 77% owned. Check your wire.
- Kike Hernandez gets playing time w/Chris Taylor out. 4-for-4 w/2 tickets to paradise(16). Both HR off Aaron Nola. Impressive.
- Slow clap. Adam Haseley w/first MLB HR. Doesn’t get daily playing time yet.
- Hector Neris gets the SV(18), six over the last 15 days. The cost? 8.36ERA, 1.64WHIP. Gotta stick with him while he has job.
- Chris Sale must be perfect damn near perfect to get the W. 6IP, 2H, 12K. Up to four wins. Ouch.
- One-two punch for BoSox this year, Mookie Betts(14HR) & Rafael Devers(19) does most of damage. Devers ranks seventh w/73RBI. HOT DAMN!
- Deja Vu! Ian Kennedy w/another SV(16). Just rubbing it in my face now…
- Bubba Starling batting .300 in 20AB vs mediocre DET & ChiSox pitching.. Got first SB of career. If you need speed, he’d be an ok pickup.
- Bounce back candidate Yoan Moncada matches career-high w/17HR. Only six SB thus far. .303AVG is nurturing.
- Need a cheap W. Dakota Hudson likely your guy. 9-4, 3.57ERA. 59%ground-ball rate. 26%Chase &9.9%SwingStrike rates aren’t impressive. Be wary of 5.14FIP & 1.62K/BB
- Ah, you found the right bat, Eugenio Suarez. 8HR, 15RBI in last 15days.
- Jordan Luplow is a specialist. .311 w/9HR vs lefties. Don’t look at righty splits.
- Remember Jun 7th, Matthew Boyd. A day all Boyd owners will never forget. The last day you allowed three or fewer runs.
- No, I don’t know how many. I didn’t count. It was a lot though. I said many many times to buy low on Jose Ramirez (ninth HR). .296AVG in last month.
- Stephen Strasburg w/W & HR. Must be satisfying.
- Ronald Acuna adds to career-high SB total(18). Trea Turner sits at 19. Both have been caught only three times. Run like the wind.
- Eddie Rosario(21) & C.J. Cron(18) wasted little time demonstrating that power wasn’t lost in their absence.
- Mitch Garver is awesome. 16HR, .297AVG. Only 56% owned?! FIX THIS!
- Jurickson Profar w/four HR in last five games. Yep, I’d sell. .214 will keep you from getting much.
- Astros always have someone making long-distance deposits. George Springer(22) & Alex Bregman(25) happy to oblige.
- Lorenzo Cain up to 12SB. Value from anywhere is appreciated. 15% of people bounced off him.
- Pete Alonso is just downright silly. 32HR. Just put bat to ball & it will fly.
- Have a great Friday. Getting back in the groove after returning home. Reach out a helping hand to someone today.
- No Fear, Just Fantasy.
