Steelers Considering Jacoby Brissett
3 years agoThe Pittsburgh Steelers are discussing the possibility of signing Miami Dolphins impending free-agent quarterback Jacoby Brissett, according to sources. Brissett, who has started 37 games in his career, could be an option because of his past relationship with four current Steelers assistant coaches, including offensive coordinator Matt Canada. The 29-year-old Brissett started 30 games for the Indianapolis Colts from 2017-20 and spent last year backing up Tua Tagovailoa in Miami. In five starts in 2021, Brissett went 141-for-225 for 1,283 yards, five touchdowns and four interceptions. Brissett has a strong arm and can be mobile, if needed, but he may not necessarily be an upgrade over Mason Rudolph, who is currently projected to fight for the starting job in training camp with Dwayne Haskins.
