Saints Restructure Marshon Lattimore's Deal
3 years agoThe New Orleans Saints restructured cornerback Marshon Lattimore's contract on Saturday for the 2022 season, according to a source. The team turned his base salary ($24 million) into a signing bonus to create $18.45 million in salary cap space for the upcoming season. As of right now, the Saints are now projected to be $5 million over the salary cap. The Saints began the offseason with one of the worst cap situations in the league, but as they usually do, they are kicking the can down the road to get under the salary cap in 2022. Lattimore made his third straight Pro Bowl in 2021 (and fourth of his career) by notching 68 tackles (55 solo), three interceptions, 19 passes defensed and a fumble recovery in 16 games for the Saints in his fifth year with the club.
