Niko Goodrum Joins Astros
3 years agoThe Houston Astros signed free-agent infielder Niko Goodrum on Saturday to a $2.1 million deal plus incentives. Goodrum will most likely serve as a utility infielder for the Astros after he slashed .232/.306/.401 with 42 home runs, 151 RBI and 45 stolen bases for the Detroit Tigers in a four-year span from 2018-21. In 2021, he had a .214/.292/.359 slash line to go with nine home runs, 33 RBI and 14 stolen bases in 325 plate appearances over 90 games played. The 30-year-old will certainly be worth picking up off the waiver wire in deeper leagues if an injury in Houston thrusts him into regular playing time, mainly for his speed on the basepaths.
