Panthers Restructure Pat Elflein's Contract
3 years agoThe Carolina Panthers converted $4.865 million of center Pat Elflein's 2022 compensation into a signing bonus on Sunday, which creates $2.432 million in salary cap space for this season, according to a source. The Panthers continue to move money around to create cap space in 2022, and they are now closing in on $30 million to spend. Carolina has avenues to create more room as well, and they are expected to be active in trades (Deshaun Watson?) and free agency as they look to contend in 2022. Elflein, 27, made nine starts for the Panthers in his first season with the team in 2021.
