Patriots Using Second-Round Tender On Jakobi Meyers
3 years agoThe New England Patriots have decided to use a second-round tender on restricted free-agent wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. The Patriots won't tender fullback Jakob Johnson, who is expected to have a market for his services in free agency. The second-round tender is worth $3.986 million in 2022. Meyers finished last season with a team-high 83 receptions for 866 yards and two touchdowns in 17 regular season games on 126 targets. All of those numbers were career-highs for the 25-year-old in his third year in New England. He will remain a key cog in the Pats passing attack in 2022, alongside Kendrick Bourne and Nelson Agholor. Meyers' fantasy value next year will depend on who else the Patriots add at the position, but he was easily the team's most attractive fantasy option at the position in 2021.
