Ehire Adrianza Goes To The Nationals
3 years agoThe Washington Nationals signed free-agent infielder Ehire Adrianza to a one-year deal on Sunday, pending a physical. Adrianza's deal will be worth $1.5 million and includes performance bonuses. The 32-year-old is primarily a shortstop and is expected to serve as a utility infielder in D.C. Adrianza spent the 2021 season with the Atlanta Braves, hitting .247/.327/.401 with five home runs and 28 RBI in only 209 plate appearances over 109 games. He played shortstop, second base, third base and all three outfield spots for the Braves, so he'll certainly prove useful around the diamond for the Nationals. However, fantasy managers can look elsewhere. Adrianza has a career .244/.313/.366 slash line with only 21 home runs and 142 RBI in nine big-league seasons.
